Please note the software (Audacity) works with Windows, macOS, Linux & other operating systems, thus I’m pretty sure this tape cassette player should work with them as well.

Pros

Affordable price – I think the price it costs is reasonable compared to similar tape-cassettes and audio-converting devices.

Build quality – This tape is relatively simple and light compared to the old Walkman, but the build quality seems good.

Ease of use – It is easy to operate this device.

Sound quality – Considering the fact the audio type in tape cassettes is analog (unlike computer files that are digital), it offers a reasonable sound quality both as a converter and as a tape. Keep in mind, that the recording quality will have the most impact on the audio quality.

Free software to convert audio – Package includes a software named “AUDACITY”, that allows you to convert audio from the tape to your computer. The software is easy to operate in my opinion.

Software compatibility – The device will work with various types of software, so you are not limited to the specific software you receive with it. The device itself doesn’t require installing any drivers on your computer.

Portable – You can carry it with you (though compared to other media players these days, I’m not sure it is a convenient thing to do).

Power sources – It will operate either with a power adapter (not supplied), two AA batteries (not supplied), or the USB connection (provided with the package and can be connected directly to a USB port or with a charger).

Cons

You cannot record on cassettes using this tape – It didn’t bother me personally, but I was asked about it a lot. Also, this is a feature that was offered in old tape cassette players, and I assume there can be similar models that do offer this feature.

Additional features that are missing – In addition to the previous paragraph, I think this is more of a gimmick, but I know there are similar models that offer a USB socket to play from a USB memory card. Other players offer a built-in speaker.

No internal battery – Unlike smartphones or portable media players, this tape cassette player doesn’t include a built-in rechargeable battery, which is unfortunate. However, you can show a little creativity and use rechargeable AA batteries with it.
