Summary:
The brand: OUKITEL
The model: C12 Pro
The OUKITEL C12 Pro has great specs. for a smartphone these days, for an affordable price.
It has a modern yet conventional design that is inspired by both Samsung smartphones and the iPhone. The phone itself is big, thin and relatively light. It doesn’t look like a cheap smartphone, and when I tell people how much it cost – they are very impressed.
The C12 Pro is a great smartphone to play media on it. The display is big and clear, the colors are vivid and videos run smoothly on it. The speaker generates excellent sound and the volume level is adequate.
The processor and memory capacity seems adequate for the average user. So far, it seems to cope well with the apps I’ve installed on it.
- I was asked by some people if the OUKITEL C12 Pro is suitable for specific apps and games. I cannot promise that I will have the time for that, but as long as I own this smartphone, you can write me (by leaving a comment) with the game or the app that you want me to test with the OUKITEL C12 Pro.
The battery in this smartphone is large and it has juice for more than a day of extreme use.
The biggest downside of the OUKITEL C12 Pro is the camera, that is very simple – both for video and still photos.
Currently I’m still testing the OUKITEL C12 Pro, so if I will update this post if I will have anything else to add about it.

The pros:
Great specifications for an attractive price – As of October 2018, you can get this smartphone for approx. $70-$80.
Large display that looks great – The OUKITEL C12 Pro is a big smartphone, with a 6.18″ display.
Phone call quality – I’m asking every person I’m talking to how I sound like, and if he/she can hear me well. So far, everyone said they can hear me crystal clear, whether it was a normal phone call, or when I put the call on speaker.
Record phone calls – When making a phone call, you can press on the screen, and enable a recording of the phone call. Keep in mind that if you’re on speaker, it will record only the person on the other side.
I’m not sure if this feature is relevant to the specific model/smartphone or the Android OS, but this feature wasn’t available on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, while it is available on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
The recordings are saved into the audio folder in the device, and you can listen to them using an audio player app.
Battery life – The battery’s capacity is 3,300mAh, which is considerably good.
My current use with the OUKITEL C12 Pro is mostly for making phone calls, WhatsApp & SMS texting, and internet browsing occasionally.
So far, when I made with the phone an extreme use – the battery lasted for more than 1 day. Most of the time, the battery lasts for 2-3 days in what I can perceive a normal use of the phone (but keep in mind “normal” & “extreme” use are subjective definitions)

The cons:
No NFC cheap – The OUKITEL C12 Pro doesn’t support NFC technology.
- NFC allow you to share contacts, websites, and images using your smartphone. You can even make purchases at locations that have NFC support. An NFC message appears automatically when your phone is within an inch of the target device.
Camera – My first impression is that the camera is relatively simple. It is inferior compared to more expensive smartphones from established brands (i.e. Samsung, Apple, LG, Sony, Xiaomi, etc.).
I had to define the APN (Access Point Name) with the cellular operator to use the internet – It happened to me with every smartphone I purchased online so far, otherwise there is no cellular internet connection.
This isn’t a complicated process, but it requires me to make an extra phone call to the cellular provider’s customer service.
