Summary:
Set of two superclamps from a well-known brand, fastened together at the fixed right angle to provide extra strength support for tubes or bars.
The brand: Manfrotto
The model: 038
The pros:
Price is relatively similar to other alternatives – I did market research online, and from all the models I managed to find, there wasn’t a price differentiation the justified taking a risk for a less known brand. Thus, choosing a familiar brand as Manfrotto was an easy choice.
Excellent grip – This might sound obvious if you’re familiar with Super Clamps, but let me explain.
Currently, my lightning setup includes an adjustable IKEA curtain crossbar and two Manfrotto AutoPole 2 poles.
Before I purchased the Dual Super Clamp, I was using an improvised solution to attach the crossbar to the Manfrotto AutoPole 2 – An IKEA wall/ceiling brackets that were attached to the Autopole 2 using a cable tie.
What happened was, that when I placed on the crossbar a relatively light LED, the crossbar rotated, and the LED didn’t stay in its place. So, I had to find a better solution for the crossbar.
I knew I need Dual Super Clamps, but I didn’t know the exact purpose of it until I began investigating the subject – This is another part of the “tuition” that I pay in my learning experience to become a content creator.
Finally, I got 2 units of the Manfrotto Dual Super Clamp, my life changed for the best, and the rest is history…
Each Super Clamp has it’s own wedge insert – The purpose of a wedge insert is to attach the Super Clamp to a flat surface such as a table. Thus, you can attach the Dual Super Clamp to more than just rounded tubes.
The stud can be attached to it as well – This Dual Super Clamp consists of 2 Super Clamps, and each of them has a socket to fit a stud into it. This gives added value to the Dual Super Clamp, which is mainly used to attach 2 tubes/crossbars to each other.
The cons:
No stud included with the package – I wish Manfrotto would include at least 1 stud in the package.
Extending a clamp too much will cause the nut (and other parts) to fall out of their place – I keep wondering why no one applies a solution to prevent the nut to release from its place when it reaches the max-width.
This happened to me with the single Manfrotto Super Clamp, and it can occur with any other Super Clamp as well.

FAQ :
Q: What is the opening range of this each Super Clamp?
A: It can be securely mounted on any tube from 0.5″ to 2.1″ (1/2 to 2-1/8 inches in diameter).
Q: What is the max. loading weight of the Dual Super Clamp?
A: According to the manufacturer, it can carry up to 15 Kg. I’m still not sure if it means that placing one unit from each side increases the loading weight or not.
