No, it does not. What it does is to spread the already existing Wi-Fi signals better in a specific area (if someone has a better explanation, I invite you to help me rephrase this answer).

Yes, it does, and there might be several reasons for that. I realized that sometimes I need to disconnect the device and plug it back into the electric socket and the problem gets solved in no time.

If you can not use the internet after setting up, please make sure you choose the Wi-Fi repeater in the Wi-Fi network list, and enter the password again.
