Summary:
Great wireless controller for an affordable price.
The brand: EasySMX
The model: ESM-9013
The pros:
- Affordable price.
- Plug and play controller that works the moment you connect the USB receiver to the USB port, without the need to install any driver (but you you still need a driver – check the link below).
- Great built quality, that doesn’t feel too cheap / too light / loose.
- Excellent response time – Though it’s a wireless controller, it responses immediately, with no delay (in this video review I demonstrated the use of the controller with the
fast paced “FORZA 7” racing game, and it was very accurate controlling the vehicle).
- The controller offers vibrating motors that contributed to the overall experience.
The cons:
- No “Power Off” button, so I’m not sure after how long it goes into sleep mode and if it doesn’t consume the battery life faster.
- When I connect the USB receiver to a USB hub (3.0 with 7 ports), there is a noticeable decrease in the performance of my computer. I’m not sure what is the exact reason for that, but the moment I took the USB receiver out of my computer, it got back to normal.
- Not sure if it supports Xbox one / 360 / Mac computers.

Q: Will this controller be suitable for my device?
A: This controller is supposed to work with Windows / Android operating system and PS3.
I tried it with PC that runs Windows 10 which worked for me fine. I also tried to connect it to PS4 – but I wasn’t able to use the controller at all.
As for other devices – according to the manufacturer the answer is “NO”.
Q: Is this controller is operates using batteries?
A: Yes, it runs on 2 AA batteries.
Q: How long can this device work on batteries?
A: The claimed battery life is 20 hours with the vibrating motors on, and 90 hours without the vibrating motors.
Q: How far the wireless connection works?
A: The controller should work well up to 10 meters. I can confirm that it worked that way during my test.
Q: Can I use 2 controllers at the same time?
A: Yes you can connect and use two controllers from this specific model at the same time (and I believe even more than that if the specific game/console allows that).
I managed to plug 2 controllers simultaneously and play with them at the same time.
Keep in mind this answer applies to PC computer that runs Windows 10, and I guess different games might react differently.
