Summary
This 3.5mm Bluetooth audio receiver (or “Dongle”), allows you to stream audio from a device that has a Bluetooth connection to an audio device that doesn’t offer a Bluetooth connection, such as a sound system (car/home, etc.) or wired headphones.
You do that by plugging the dongle into a 3.5mm socket (usually it is a line-in or aux socket) in the audio device that doesn’t have a Bluetooth connection.
After using this device for more than a year, in my opinion, it is a great purchase & I recommend it.
If you want to make the most of this Bluetooth audio dongle, I advise you to watch my videos and read this post carefully.

Pros
Audio quality – Great device for transmitting audio wirelessly from a Bluetooth device to an audio device that does not include a Bluetooth connection (i.e. audio system, headphones, etc.).
Low price – Very attractive price tag.
Easy to operate – Small which makes it portable.
Has a built-in microphone – Since it has a mic in it, you can use it to make phone calls. It is a useful feature if you that in your car (let’s say if you rent a car, it will be indispensable).
Reasonable operation range – It works in a distance of up to 10 meters, so assuming you use it for your car (i.e., during a road trip), if it’s a big car or you are out of your vehicle it still works great!
Built-in rechargeable battery – The dongle has a built-in rechargeable battery that lasts for 9-10 hours, which is very good, in my opinion.
Cons
Variance in the quality of the product – This is a generic device that is offered by many manufacturers & sellers. Thus, the quality of the device you order might vary from one to another.
Phone call quality is average at best – According to some of the people who I spoke to, the sound quality of the phone calls isn’t so good.
I guess this relates to the difference in the quality of the devices manufactured by different manufacturers.
Videos
Here is the first video I made about this 3.5mm Bluetooth audio receiver:
When I made this video, I didn’t know what to expect.
Also, I wasn’t as familiar with the technical terms as I am today. If I had to shoot this video today, then it would be much better.
But I love its authenticity, and it makes me proud of what I evolved to become since then if it wasn’t for that video – who knows how my life would be?
Here is the second video I made about this 3.5mm Bluetooth audio receiver:

FAQ
How long does it last on a single charge?
Charging the device takes approx. 15-25 minutes. When fully charged, the receiver works for approx. 10 hours.
Can I use the device while it is charging?
Yes, the device can operate while charging, but keep in mind that since this receiver is a generic product that is manufactured by different manufacturers, there’s a chance that it won’t work.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that your device is damaged, but that the specific model that you own doesn’t allow you to do that. In this case, I advise you to contact the seller in advance if that’s the case.
Will it work with wired headphones?
Yes, if you connect this receiver to wired headphones, they will operate as wireless headphones.
How is the sound quality when I use this receiver to make phone calls?
It depends on the specific model you are using since several different manufacturers manufacture it, so the quality of the device varies.
In some cases, it can operate well, while in other cases, the sound quality of the phone call will not be so good.
Can I answer phone calls from this device instead of from the smartphone?
In my case, I didn’t manage to do that – I answered,. the phone calls from the smartphone itself.
Do you recommend this device?
For the price – YES, it’s worth the risk, and worst-case scenario, you can contact the seller and ask for a refund or settle for something else.
Can I answer a phone call using the receiver?
By pressing the button you can:
- Answer an incoming phone call.
- Disconnect an ongoing phone call.
- Redial to the last dialed number.
I connected the transmitter to the “Bluetooth-less” device and paired it with my Bluetooth device, but the audio quality is not so good – What can I do?
I believe the audio quality is affected by several factors, so try the following:
- Check the volume level is up in both the broadcasting and receiving devices.
- Connect the receiver with a different smartphone/tablet/computer that has a Bluetooth connection, and see if there’s any change.
- Connect the receiver to a different input in the “Bluetooth-less” device – for example, if there are “Mic-In” & “Line-In” sockets, try to see which one is better for you.
- Replace the 3.5mm connector / 3.5mm cable with a different cable that will be of better quality.
How can I control the volume level using this receiver?
The volume level is the outcome of the following factors:
- The volume level on the broadcasting device (i.e. smartphone, computer, tablet).
- The volume level of the audio player of the broadcasting device (i.e. YouTube, media player, VLC player, etc.).
- The volume level of the receiving device (i.e. audio system).
